I'd recently been looking for a 37" - 42" TV for my basement to be used occasionally, mostly for sports. It's using HDMI with my cable box.My 42" JVC JLC42BC3000 arrived today from Amazon ($509) and my initial impressions are happy ones. I'd seen a video review on youtube but not much other info. The Amtran build is solid and the sound is great.I wasn't sure if 60Kh or 120Kh would matter but preferred it if possible. I had considered the LG 42LK520 which seems like a great TV but over $80 more. The 42" and 47" JVCs are 120Kh.My other TVs are a 47" VIZIO XVT3D474SV and a 32" LG 32LD350.Bottom line, I really like this TV. The build quality of the case is excellent (seems stronger than my Vizio), no flex at all when plugging it in, no flashlighting and the picture quality is terrific. I can't see any problem pixels. There is a bit of lag when using the cable guide and a bit of lag when changing inputs. No ethernet or apps but lots of input options. Audio is really great. If SRS TruVolume is turned off, the overall volume drops significantly but it sounds great with both StudioSurround HD and TruVolume on. Very happy with this TV so far!
